When: Wed., March 26 (kickoff) @ 7pm
Sat., April 26 (screening) @ 7pm
Where: Mission Theater
The Fiery-Wheel-O-Rama is a month long film competition structured like most timed film competitions.
On the first night, the kickoff party, teams pay a $20 entry fee per team to. This entry is what pays for them to spin the wheel (a literal wheel) which decides which genre, plot points, scene, etc the team MUST use in their film. If you spin and get something you don’t like, you can spin again for an additional $5. You can spin as much as you want after your first “free” spin, so long as you pay $5 for each one. At the end of the night, teams walk away with all their film requirements. After that, it is their job to write, shoot, and edit a short film with those requirements within one month’s time.
Teams have until the second night, one month from the spinning-the screening party, to finish their films and turn them into the IFC (deadline day coming soon). On this night, we screen the films and hand out the awards.
Awards: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, audience choice, best actor, best actress, best supporting actor, and best supporting actress.
If you’ve been to our One Night Stand event or know about the 48 Hour Film Project, this is a lot like those. The difference is you have a month to make the best of the short films.
So build a team and come join us for some fun!!!!
