Here at the Actor’s Corner our goal is to help new actors and actors that have been around awhile. It is an ever growing site and we will always be on the lookout for new information regarding acting – especially for the camera.
“It takes talent. In an actor, I believe, these endowments consist of high sensitivity and responsiveness to sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell, of exceptional sensitivity to others, of being easily moved by beauty and pain, and having a soaring imagination without losing control of reality. The would be actor must face the fact that it is of little use without the TENACITY and DISCIPLINE it takes to make something of the talent.”
– Uta Hagen
“After talent, I would say commitment is the next most important thing an actor needs. It’s not only the ability to totally commit to a character, but the ability to commit to the journey an acting career will likely require.”
– Anne Geddes; Owner, Geddes Agency, Los Angeles

Helpful Tips from Actors in the Biz

Great tips Andy. Thank you IFC for the Actor’s page! Good luck to everyone in the Showcase this week, sorry that I have to miss this one.
I have a couple of others to add.
1. Use the same name all the time. That sounds silly but hear me out. If you go by Bill on the audition form but William on your resume it can be confusing to the person casting.
2. If you have call backs on a different day, wear the same outfit. It helps the casting person remember you.
3. Unless the character calls for something different, women should dress and look like women, men should look like men. I recomend that women wear a skirt or dress. I know it sounds old fashioned but it’s true.
